RULH Board Meeting Cancelled

Due to the current health crisis, the meeting of the RULH Board of Education scheduled for March 18 has been cancelled.

 

The letter below is from RULH Superintendent Jamie Wilkins in regards to safetey and contingency plans for RULH Schools regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19).

 
The RULH School Pantry will have open pantry hours on Monday, March 23, and Wednesday, March 25, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. If you have a child in the RULH District, you may come to the high school during the open pantry hours on the scheduled dates to receive food. Please report to door #1 at the high school.
 
Ripley Union Lewis Huntington Schools will offer food distribution to any children age 18 and younger during the mandatory school closure. If you would like food packages prepared for your children, please complete the form found here or click on the image below.Children DO NOT have to be students in the district to receive food.
 
Access to Wi-Fi
In response to the educational challenges created by COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Charter Communications is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households in their service area with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. Click this link to read the full press release from Charter or to enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

The RULH School District, in conjunction with non-profit partner PrimaryPlus, has a new school-based health center in the works. Interact for Health is providing a $310,000 grant to support the initiative.
 
The health center will provide a full-range of comprehensive primary care services and be staffed with an experienced family health nurse practitioner and nurse. Construction for the health center will begin once plans have been finalized by the state. The project is estimated to take a couple of months to complete.
 
 
 
The Ohio Department of Education has honored the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington Local School District and the RULH Middle School with its 2019 Momentum Award. The awards recognize schools for exceeding expectations in student academic growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card.
