Real Money. Real World., a financial literacy program offered through Ohio State University Extension, recently gave a presentation to 8th graders at RULH Middle School. The program began with lessons on jobs, taxes, house payments, insurance, and child care. It also included an interactive spending simulation in which students visited community volunteers to collect information about each aspect of their simulated lives and make lifestyle and budget choices similar to those made by 27-year-old adults. The program concluded back in the classroom with a post-session evaluation of spending choices made during the simulation.
