Ms. Holly Hayden was recently named the RULH Teacher of the Year and a finalist for Brown County Teacher of the Year! Ms. Hayden currently serves as a sixth grade language arts teacher at RULH Middle School. She is in her fourth year with the district.

 

Ms. Hayden graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in English from Northern Kentucky University in 2012. She then worked to complete the IPTI program through the Ohio Department of Education to obtain her alternative teaching license and now holds a K-12 Language Arts teaching license. She completed her Masters of Arts in English in 2017. Ms. Hayden maintains an active membership with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and frequently interacts with other members via social media.

 

During her time at RULH, Ms. Hayden has served on many committees. Currently, she is a member of the 6th grade TBT, the middle school building leadership team, and the district leadership team. She is also president of her building’s PBIS committee, the middle school’s A+ Coordinator, and the spelling bee sponsor.

 

Ms. Hayden has presented during building and district professional development days on topics including growth mindset and Google Classroom. She has also led a book study for the Middle School regarding the use of mentor texts during writing instruction and is collaborating with a member of the Brown County Educational Service Center to improve countywide ELA collaboration and form a book study that will be open to all ELA teachers in Brown County.
